The kick-off meeting for the new APVV university project “Strengthening the REsilience MAnagement of Key infrastructue Elements using advances in 3D modeling ” took place at the university of Žilina on 29th September 2023. Three faculties (FBI, SvF, FRI) are jointly participating in the project. Faculty of Security Engineering as the project coordinator, under the leadership of prof. Ing. Zdeněk Dvořák, Ph.D. For the Faculty of Civil Engineering the Department of Structures and Bridges, the Department of Geodesy, the Department of Structural Mechanics and Applied Mathematics are involved. The Faculty of Management and Informatics is represented by the Department of Computer Science. The project investigators and invited guests attended the meeting. The aim of the project is a research and development of an innovative integrated information system for critical facilities, focusing on theassessment of the resilience to internal and external threats and security risks. Primarily the application of Building Information Modeling (BIM) to a selected area will be made, by creating a pilot “Area Resilience Information Modeling” AResIM (Area Resilience Information Modeling) in the Trenčín region. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Road Administration of the Trenčín Region, who are the end user of the project. Prof. Ing. Milan Sokol, Ph.D. from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, STU Bratislava, as a guest of the discussion presented findings from a related project implemented in the Bratislava region. Territory monitoring and data collection with the help of unmanned aerial vehicles was presented by another guest of the discussion Ing. Pavol Pecho, Ph.D. from the Department of Air Transport, PEDAS Faculty.
